threads

unijcr

i think i’ve been living in a cave these past few months, what with work and all that. ok excuses.

it was only todai that i finally realised that UNIQLO will be opening here soon. *gasp*glee*coldsweats* i’ve been following (religiously but without much success) on superfuture, and lots had been saying about uniqlo’s threads. so it must be good. so believe the hype, i guessed. now at least, sarip has a nother store to splurge spend wisely, other than muji but of course.

even so i’ve been saying this or that about what threads are nice or not, i’ve always had this unlucky spot whereby i’ll always happen to meet people-i-think-i-know-or-they-partly-know-or-those-who-have-not-seen-for-the-longest-time-ever and it so happens i will be wearing the most dowdy piece of cloth i could ever get. in simpler terms, the ive-been-wearing-niceties-things-for-the-longest-time-but-today-im-lazy-so-lets-just-dress-down-dramatically-day. ya know, like one of those days. and yeah.

or is it just because that i dont, ya know, look, ya know, decent enough. oh what the hell.

but my cravings for good clothes (read: wearable, stylish basic materials, not too loud, not too daylight-robbery-price, not flashy and not very g2000ish – no offense) are still burning in the gut. i’ve been patronizing daniel’s but i realised his cloths are not refined enough and stains are so hard to get rid off. and tj tailors and maharajah’s cloths are fine and dandy, but the peeps working there are not as forthcoming as daniel. so, bummer.

and thus, this is where j.crew comes in. yes, that dawson’s creek james van der beeke thingy. wonder where is he now.

j.crew. love it. but not available here. damn. (i still don’t trust internet purchases. oh woe is me.)

now the point of the story here – if you can bring uniqlo here, can somebody pretty please bring j.crew here also?

i plead.

rainbows and all.

conservatives

netanyahu

Netanyahu’s government will enshrine the neo-con values of Bush just as America swings back to the left under Barack Obama

hopefully, just hopefully, history of ’98 will happen again. the world has had enough of neo-con right wing nut cases. and to be vibrant again over there, is the last thing that people would had hoped for.

tell me – how often can you judge a leader for you when he has to get the support of a moldovan born bouncer to win the election? that’s the stuff from the onion yo! a moldovan born BOUNCER! sarah palin would probably be jumping for joy now. only if she knew where the heck the country is.

super size me

feb14

i think i’ve gained about 12 kilos since the past year. *gulps*

i’m on an eating binge and i can’t stop. and truth be known, my metabolism rate has gone SIGNIFICANTLY down eversince i hit the 3-0. sheet. i’m THIRTY?!

and it doesn’t help when our weekends are mostly spent on eating, and more eating, and more eating.

and peaberry and pretzel was nice. *teehee* place was nice, environment was nice, super burger was super and teh tiramisu werkz. but imma not fond of creme brulee cos i’m like dat. :S

oh! and labrador park at night was actually, nice. unlike the expectation of “tempat keras giler” type.

and prata cafe @ evans road sure has a lot of flies. we were a bit kepunan after hearing about prata maggi mee served there. verdict? satu bite and you can sure to be kenyang like mad. we can’t even finished it. it was that filling…though not in a good way.

i. need. to. stop. binging.

goodnight, daisy

to hell with the plot…the clothes were amazing! those chambray shirts were tha shiznits! the leather jackets! owww! the grey shawl cardigan! the enfield bike! those desert boots! wooo! i think the butang looks really swell during the 60’s period ala steve mcqueen.

on a depressing note, sarip knows it will be too obvious he won’t look as good as the butang even though he (tries) to imitate with the clothes. no need to implement any curiosity at all! 😦 but if you still want to, clickity here.

Pulau Rawa

6

for the longest taim, sarip had been wanting to go and visit pulau rawa, but each taim he was disappointed as the result of the place being fully booked. all the time. ALL TEH TIME.

so naturally, he was ultra delighted to be informed that the place was available (albeit being the last available lodging tucked in the last corner of rawa safaris and with the other resort not in operational yet due to the low peak season – it is thought to be “the monsoon” season, yes but thank goodness for this global warming though, since it did not rain at all! yeh!)

the island was simply b-e-a-yooooouuutiful, sarip might add. if it is your kind of thing lah. beaches are filled with white sands, waters are turqoise, azure blue, clean, and – MORE IMPORTANTLY – totally disconnected from the outside world. no tvs, no radio, no internets, nothing. only thing in abundance? peace, quietness, great food, hammocks and a sunken boat in the beach! :> yeeehawwww! families with kids were in abundance though, but it was ok still. (cue in mind for parents with kids who wants to go to a nearby getaway but place is still nice and has good facilities and price is not steep – this is the place for y’all. jackpotteh!)

how to get there and survive the bumpeh roads

1. for those driving, just head down to mersing (2 hours). cars will be parked at a designated car park. so it’s safe lah kan.

2. rawa safaris provides transport from singapore to their office. $150 one-way.

3. for those bussing, head down to larkin bus terminal. head to s&s bus services, get the 8.30 bus (ONLY RM11.50).  will reach Mersing bus terminal in 2 hours. 15 mins walk to rawa office.

4. if buses are booked, take a cab down to Mersing from Queen Street or Larkin. $75 one-way.

5. if all else fails, there is still the “magic bus”. hehe.

when to book

try at best to book 3 months in advance. we were rushing only a month before, so naturally it was damn cekik darah. their front office response is damn sakit hati, so you have to pester them A LOT. and they cannot accept online payment. so you have to FAX to them a document. so yeah.

boat ride

boat leaves @ 730 AM (i think), 11.30 AM and 2.00 PM (i think) and will take 45 mins. try to get the earlier ones. boat ride is, let say sea sick inducing (for me at least), as it was cramped and hawt as all the windows were shut don’t know why.

what to do there

eat (great food). drink. sleep. eat. drink. sleep. swim. dip. snorkel. kayak. jump from the jetteh. and wander your mind away.

SARIP WANTS TO GO BACK THERE YEH!

more pixies here step right ups.

animal collective // my girls

Is it much that I feel I need
A solid soul and the blood I bleed
With a little girl, and by my spouse
I only want a proper house

I don’t care for fancy things
Or to take part in a precious race
And children cry for the one who has
A real big heart and a father’s grace

I don’t mean to seem like I care about material things like a social status
I just want four walls and adobe slabs for my girls
